Why do ppl always say that shoes made in Italy are the best?

I always hear people say about how shoes made in Italy are the best and most expensive, that they are made of high-quality materials and all that.





Then I was browsing some manolos on the net (and we all know how manolos is the high priest of all high heels), and I found out that some of them are made in Italy.

Why do ppl always say that shoes made in Italy are the best?
i guess because they have good quality leather and it all handcrafted by hand and not machine that would explain why the shoes are so damn expensive 5000 or more dollars. Me i buy a shoes because of comfort and if I can splurge a lil bit I'll spend that extra 70 bucks at DSW Shoe Warehouse for them expensive Macy STore ENZO's etc.
Reply:Italy has a lot of livestock farms and the country specializes in creating very fine garment quality leather from these animals. Additionally, the skills needed to create fine leather worked goods such as shoes are passed down from generation to generation. You still see apprentices learning shoe making from master craftsman using very old techniques. This is very different from the US or Asia where most shoes are made of cheaper materials in factories.

Reply:italy is know for for their fine leather and other materials, plus unlike the us there are more people in europe who create clothing from natural materials instead of factory work, the only catch is that they are expensive
