Need accurate looking 18th century shoes from American source?

Ready-made is fine, but I don't mind if they need to be custom made. They DO have to be of an upper-class style (i.e. not military or commoner style, which is what I mostly find.)

They also MUST be straight-lasted (not modern left and right, this ruins the whole look.)

Otherwise, I don't care if the materials or construction are 100 percent accurate just as long as everything that shows looks to be so. I also want a US source, because the exchange rate for Britain and Europe is so bad right now.

The shoes are for a play, so I need both men's and women's styles. (Don't tell me the audience won't notice -- the director WILL and that's all that matters!)

Good Luck.... I am a Rev War reenactor, and you are asking for a LOT. Few people make "gentlemen's " shoes. For a play, you do not need to go so far! Reenactors hardly do, and we have to deal with talking to people practically standing on our toes.

Forget straight lasts. Once someone has worn there shoes a while, they shape to your foot and look like left and right foot anyway- YOU DO NOT switch shoes between feet- ask a shoemaker why!

The difference between a gentlemen's shoe and a commoners shoe is how sturdy it is- the thickness of the leather. If they are not handling the shoe, the public can't tell.

Fugawe makes straight last shoes. Flying Canoe makes lefts and rights. Najecki sells good shoes too.

See "Ye Rev List" sutlers web page for more ideas and links.
