Ballet question????

I want to ask wich sort of padding is better for the pointe shoes the jelly pad otr the material one???Cauze i got the material one and it got worned out v-quikley!!!Is the jelly one better???

Ballet question????
Get the pink jell pads. The blue jell pads require being in flour to dry them out after you use them. The pink ones don't and I have used the same pair of pink jell pads for 4 years. The material does wear out quickly, but its really whatever your foot feels comfortable with.
Reply:Well the type of pad you use is dependant on how you feel. they both do the exact same job the only diffrence is which one do you feel more comfortable with. If you didnt like how the material felt or if you did like it but it just wore out too quickly try the jelly one and if it doesnt feel right then go back to material. You dont even need pads tape also works, all the pointe dancers at my studio use the jelly though.
Reply:i like wool jell pads they are really comfy
Reply:I've used both and I think it really depends on your foot but for my foot the jelly pads felt soooo much better, but they also stink after awhile.
Reply:I'm not exactly sure what you mean by material, but I'm guessing you mean lambs wool?? If you specify what type I'll edit this in a few. I use the ones in the link below, they are jelly, but still feel like your toes aren't going right through them. I have try many different types and these are by far the best.

^^here is a list of toe pads, if you click on one and look to the lleft of the picture you'll see a bunch of stars and reviews: #. You can click on that and see what other people have to say about the pads before buying them!
Reply:I have had both gel toe pads and lamb's wool toe pads and the gel pads are much, much better. They absorb more shock when you land jumps and they just plain feel better. I have heard of girls who put paper towels in their pointe shoes when they first start pointe, but then slowly wean themselves off of them so that they do not need toe pads at all. I think this would hurt, but some people think that this technique is the way to go. Try both and see which works best for you. all dancers have unique feet and unique ways of caring for them. However, remember that your body, and especially your feet, are your tools as a dancer. Don't do anything to them that doesn't feel right. It could end your career.
Reply:everyone has different ideas on what type of padding to use for their feet. i use ouch pouches, and i think they work really well. you can feel the floor enough, and they dont feel too bulky in my pointe shoes. a lot of my friends wear gel pads and they love those as well, because they offer a little more extra padding than the thin ouch pouches.

by material did you mean ouch pouches, or lamb's wool...? lamb's wool is pretty thin but some people like them. try out different types to see which fits you the best and which you are most comfortable in. it can really make a difference in your dancing if you find the right one for you.

good luck!
Reply:jelly pads are way better cause i used to have the material ones or lambs wool and my toes are worse then now. also i think most dancing school supply stores have like individual toe jelly pads that are really good i heard from people in my dance class. i would try those as well as the regular toes pads
Reply:I use ouch pouches and I love them. They have a fabric covering, but gel on the inside. I used to have regualr gel apds and I hated them, I got blood blisters on every toe. I've also used lambs wool before, While the lambs wool worked very well the first time I used it, it was worn out halfway through my second class.

So I would recommend Ouch Pouches, but remember that everyone's feet are different. You should try out some different things to see what works best for you.

Good luck and keep on dancing!!!
Reply:Go with the jell pads, their much better. You can buy them at discountdancesupply.com
Reply:I would got the jelly ones to. i have the material ones and i have only been usuing them for three months and they are already torn up.
