Shoes with a black cocktail dress?
You could wear nice gold or silver kitten heels or ballet shoes. Or you could wear gold or silver shoes with a small heel. Just make sure you glam the black up with jewellery and accessories!like gold or silver or evern colourful and get red shoes to match?
Reply:A low heel in a bright color. Maybe something with a peep toe.

This is cute. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Green-Patent-Peep-Toe...

they have so many cute shoes including flats and yes flats

will work with that dress. that site also has awesome prices!
Reply:I don't know any reputable shoe sites but my suggestion would be to pop the dress with a red kitten heel shoe.

Your link didn't work, but I suggest white pumps. The contrast is bold and flirty, and pumps are still very much in right now.

If you get peep-toe pumps, paint your toenails black. Gwyneth Paltrow has been sporting black toenails at all the "Iron Man" press things recently, and it's sort've started a fad.

The nice thing about black dresses, though, is just about any color goes except brown.

Looking for Cute Running Shoes: Any Suggestions?

I am hoping to start a running routine for exercise because I don't think I will be on my school's cheerleading team next year, and I need a way to maintain my physical fitness. I have been looking for some quality running shoes that are somewhat pleasing to look at, and haven't been all that successful. I have found a couple pairs that I like, but would like to know if there's anything else that I should consider. I really love the appearance of the Nfinity: Genesis cheerleading sneakers, but don't know that they are good for running. If you could give me any insight about the Nfinity Genesis cheerleading shoes on a running standpoint, that would be very helpful, and I'd appreciate it greatly. If you could locate any running shoes that have good arch support and if possible are made with a nice breathable material, and have a similar appearance to the Nfinity Genesis cheerleading sneakers, that would be appreciated as well. Thank you VERY much! :]

Looking for Cute Running Shoes: Any Suggestions?
aasics tennis shoes are always cute (well, for tennis shoes anyway) and they are comfortable, and sensible. which is what you really need.
Reply:don't worry about how cute the shoes are or else your gonna get hurt but you can try pumas if that's all that matters to you
Reply:ok if your gonna run don't be a loser, who cares about what the shoes look like, you want shoes that will fit your feet that you won't get hurt in. I ran for 4 years, and i didn't care what my shoes looked like, i just wanted to stay injury free, and if your gonna be running every day there is gonna be bad weather so it doesn't matter.

What are the bugs in my shoes?

I have two pairs of shoes near a window (one are leather, others are man-made polyester - type material). Both have become mouldy. I am able to remove the insoles from the polyester shoes and so I did for easy-cleaning. Upon doing this, I noticed lots of little bugs that are white-ish in colour and about a millimetre in size. There are around 2 per square centimetre.

What are they? They are crawling, not hopping, and have legs (although they're too small to count how many).

Does this fit in with the decription of flea larvae? Please help!

Thanks!

What are the bugs in my shoes?
A flea larva is nearly invisible to the naked eye; by the time they are mobile, they are like tiny, nearly invisible wriggling worms.

I am thinking something more like meal bugs feeding on the organic matter in your shoes as they would potatoes or flour.
Reply:ewwww. mabye the moisture from the window, comming in from out side, is making the moldy, which causes bugs. dont put them by the window.
Reply:Throw out the shoes. Call an exterminator, and keep your new shoes out of the window.
Reply:i would get new shoes and dispose of those moldy ones they could cause mold to start growing in your house
Reply:uha somebody needs some good cleaning ! this could be verywell some spider abbies ,since you had them by the window!!!!!!

clean your shoes out really good and get some bugspray to go along the window and bottom of floor
Reply:Wow. I have no idea but this would freak me out. I suggest buying some new shoes.
Reply:dude that like sik

umm clean your damn shoes

or like see if dry cleaners clean them man
Reply:probably maggots which are fly larvae

THROW THOSE SHOES AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:throw the shoes away.....mold is dangerous

But if you want to clean them..use bug spray..then anticeptic spray..then 409 spray..and wipe them out...let them dry in sunshine outside

keep them in a shoe box with paper stuffed in them..if you see mold again..toss them
Reply:Dude....its almost Christmas..buy yourself a new pair of shoes....and a box of chocolate... =)

DESPERATE!!! Nice shoes for small feet (size 3)??

Anyone knows where I can find nice ladies' shoes for my small feet in S'pore? Or are there any good websites I can order them?

I've got tiny feet that's about size 3 (size 34?), depending on the design and material, sometimes i can fit a pair of size 4 (but that's really.. very rare).

Charles and Keith and Tangs Studio used to have nice shoes/sandels I can fit, but nowadays I really have trouble finding what I need. Either I see something nice but they don't have my size, or those that I can fit just don't look good on me.. :(

And as all my old shoes are wearing out, and I really need new shoes for wearing to work, this's become a big problem to me. Everytime I see nice heels/wedges/flats in magazines, it agonises me when I realised how difficult it is for me to get them cos most shops don't bring in designs of my size! Not to mention I'm rather short, so I really need the heels to bring on some height at work and to socialize.

Please help!!!

Reply:I advise black. I know you want to stand out but it's quiteb a pretty dress. And you don't want to stand out by mismatching colours. So no shinystuff, maybe dark blue, green. As long as it's a dark and quiet colour I think it will work.
Reply:with an all black dress it always looks good to wear any color shoes. i would suggest red shoes or even something crazier. anything goes with black so have fun with the colors
Reply:Go get some wild color like red or blue!

Athletes foot???

my 11 year old might have athletes foot. right below her toes and on her big toe are peeling. they kinda smell but i am not sure if it is form her shoes as her shoes are made out of man made material. HELP?!?!?

Athletes foot???
Athlete's foot, medically known as tinea pedis, is a fungal infection of the skin of the feet. Despite its name, athlete's foot can affect anyone and is not restricted to those who play sports or participate in physical exercise. It is estimated that up to 70% of the population will have athlete's foot at some time in their lives.

Symptoms of athlete's foot include dry skin, itching, burning, and redness of the feet. The symptoms are often apparent in the skin between the toes, where the infection usually starts. Blistering, peeling, cracking of the skin, and bleeding may occur. Sometimes the affected skin can appear white and wet on the surface.

The fungus that causes athlete's foot can be found on floors and clothing, and the organisms require a warm, dark, and humid environment in order to grow. The infection spreads by direct contact with contaminated surfaces or objects. As the infection spreads, it may affect the soles of the feet or the toenails. The affected skin is also more vulnerable to bacteria that cause skin infection (cellulitis). This is particularly common in persons with diabetes, the elderly, and people with impaired function of the immune system.

Reply:There are different signs of athletes foot, but the most common is itching. If her foot itches and she wants to scratch it all the time, then yes she may have it. If it's just pealing, the foot, like hands will peel when a calis is forming. A calis is nothing to worry about, they form when that particular part is rubbed or used often. Many people who work-out get them on their hands due to the dumbells and barbells.
Reply:You can always treat them in Listerine, just for the precaution.

Will not hurtyour daughter at all, and will kill any fungis on her toes.

Are these shoes okay?

i'm taking an aerobics class, and we're supposed to wear comfortable shoes. i have a pair of flats from nine-west that are made entirely of cloth and a thin layer of rubber-like material on the bottom. the bottom molds to the shape of the foot, and the sides cling to the foot with elastic. they're brown, withOUT any adornments [jewels] or ribbons and such.

the shoes are super comfortable, but should i wear tennis shoes instead? i don't want the teacher pointing out my shoes, but i don't want to carry around an extra pair of shoes all day either . . .

Are these shoes okay?
I would wear tennis shoes ....you are doing a good workout with alot of moving and jumping and you really need the support ...you don't want your feet to ache and that is what will happen if you don't have good support ...you could even get leg cramps...

Hope this was helpful ~~~

Enjoy your class !
Reply:wear tennies, they keep you from rolling an ankle, and you wont be pointed out, and they are comfy and pretty much match with everything
Reply:Try them and see how they feel. After the first class you'll know whether or not they are going to be a good option for you.
Reply:If theres nothing wrong with the shoes then why would the teacher be mad? But you could also go see the teacher before class and ask if those shoes are exceptable and leave it at that. Wouldn't you rather have your teacher say they werent exceptable just infront of you or your whole class!!!
Reply:i would wear tennis shoes because aerobics will be a lot of moving...those shoes sound better for a yoga and maybe pilates class
Reply:no, they sound like they would work perfect. it'd be different if you were running or something. and dont worry they usaully dont point out anyone in perticual.

Bowerman's shoes.?

i know bill bowerman made the bottoms of the shoes from his wifes waffle iron. but what did he use for the material on top of that and where or how did he get the rubber. did he just pour it on the iron?

Bowerman's shoes.?
Screw! Maybe someone should shove the waffle iron up your a*s! If you have any intention of trying and making those shoes I will have to laugh. He got the rubber from rubber trees in Brazil or some country similar to that. He had the rubber in sheets and he put it in the iron. Then the whole sheet bore the waffle appearance. Then, he just sized it down to the measurements he wanted. Go crazy on what kind of fabric you want to use. Connor is a pervert. I hope Erin slaps him. CHEA!!!!

Does ne1 know how I can remove dried paint from things like the insides of a bucket in an eco-friendly manner?

My dad used a lot materials to paint the roof, and now his materials are all covered with dried paint, like his brushes and buckets and shoes.

Do you know a way or two or more that I can remove the paint?

I've gone to this website that tells you what to do, like use chemicals, sanding, or heat. The first one is not environmental friendly; in sanding, no chemicals are required right? Could I use a hair dryer for a heat source to blow the paint? Do you suggest any other method? What do you think is the best and easiest (and environmentally friendly, if you can) to remove dried paint from these working materials?

Thank you very much! Very much appreciated !

Does ne1 know how I can remove dried paint from things like the insides of a bucket in an eco-friendly manner?
There is a product called SoySafe adhesive and mastic remover which is non-toxic. Although labeled for adhesives, most adhesive removers will also remove paint. We used it on our living room floor (concrete) which had carpet glue. Not only did it take up the glue, it also cleaned up the old paint stains! Their website is soysafe.com. I will say though that even though it is supposed to be non-toxic, the smell was a bit strong and it did aggravate my asthma; however, we were using on a large area.
Reply:brushes: a brush cleaner solvent from sherwin williams or somewhere like that, assuming that they were used and then not cleaned at all...otherwise they are shot and worthless.

buckets: hot water and a 5-in-1 tool to scrape the inside off. the hot water should heat up the plastic enough to be able to scrape the paint off. however, whenever my buckets get old i just ask them for a few new buckets and they give them to me for free, or whenever im done with a house i wash out the 5 gallon pails and take those.

shoes: it comes with the job.
Reply:Well for the buckets I use a small compressor driven sand blaster.

1st time owner of a leather bag & leather boots - any care needed? Are they waterproof?

Hi guys, I recently went on a leather purchasing frenzy on ebay and now own a brand new leather tote (RRP$189) and a pair of vintage leather boots.

I've never had any leather products before, so was quite surprised when I did a google search and suddenly there seems like heaps I need to do to care for them.

Is that really neccessary? If so, what should I do to upkeep my purchases (I need solutions that are cheap and convenient)? If I did nothing and just used them like I would any other accessory, what could happen to them?

I just read that leather can't be wet! So what happens if I get caught in the rain one day (which is bound to happen eventually)? Seems silly to pay so much for shoes that can't get wet wherelse water just slides off cheaper materials.

Also, (sorry, I know I'm asking heaps but I just saved up for quite a while to buy these) I was under the (naive?) impression that leather lasts forever. Is that right? Or can leather tear just like any other material?

Thanks!

1st time owner of a leather bag %26amp; leather boots - any care needed? Are they waterproof?
Leather is great, and it does last forever.

Bermans leather has a very good conditioner that is also waterproof. You do need to use some of that because if you do get them wet they will leave water stains, then it will look darker and lighter in different spots.

It's not something that has to be done all the time though. I did my boots and purse years ago and they are still like new, it works.

Whats great about leather is the older is is the better it looks as long as it's not all stained. The conditioner keeps it soft too.
Reply:there are sprays you can buy in stored like COACH and shoe stores that will take care of your leather. leather DOES last a long time..........IF you take care of it. Buena suerte!
Reply:If it is real leather keep on hand polish that matches the color and saddle soap to follow. Polish helps keep the color if it fades or wear (the craking and creases) Saddle soap cleans and shines and helps to water proof the leather. Have a good one.
Reply:It lasts as long as you care for it. Go to a local convenience store (Wal-Mart works well) and buy leather treatment and waterproofer. It is water proof to a certain extent but i would not submerge it. If you do not care for you leather and keep it "lubed" up it will dry and crack.
Reply:ur question was a little big .. its absolutely correct that leather product need to be cared a liitle .... i can say the very easy and simplest thing to care for it .....just clean ur bag and shoes when u use and put in pure cotton cloth and try to wrap it so that air coulnt pass inside it ....and put in place where air hardly goes like ur wardrobe or cupboard but avoid keeping very dark or chances where water or MOISTURE exist ...then ur bag and shoes will long lasting
Reply:there are lotions that you use to condition the leather to keep it soft and pliable and more important is the silicone spray that protects the outside from water marks. read up and take care of the garments and they should last a long time, but definitely protect them
Reply:Saddle soap right away %26amp; then every 3 month or when needed like an oil change for for car.

Does a scientific research paper have to be scientific?

Lets say I'm writing about pollution or global warming.

My points are like the causes or effects.

2/3 of my information will not use any scientific terms.

Would that be alright if 2/3 of my contents explains the causes or effects without using a lot of the terms like gases and toxic chemicals?

It is kind of hard to write any scientific research paper when you can write so much. It isn't like explaining the process of fertilization where you can use a wide range of scientific terms. It is more like talking about shoes and the only thing scientific in the paper is the materials.

Does a scientific research paper have to be scientific?
If we were talking about an essay paper, the answer would be that you don't have to write using scientific terminology IF you can explain, with total clarity, exactly what you are talking about. If you think you can do that, then it's perfectly acceptable to use everyday English.

But you are talking about a scientific research paper, then yes, it has to use scientific research language.

Think about it this way: a research paper is a study about a very particular topic. You are going to cite all sorts of information and you have to be able to back it up. And the people who read scientific research papers are other scientists. They are used to reading the scientific terms and a paper with no scientific terminology is going to rank about as high as a comic book in that community.

What is the best (strongest) glue for gluing fish hook back together?

What is the best (strongest) glue for gluing fish hook back together?
Try some JB weld. Lots of parts stores carry it, you may even find it a lowes or HD.

You`ll more than likely end up with a little bump were you make the joint. Of course this will only add to the obvious story behind a fish hook in a track shoe. (Keep breakin tapes)

What eyeshadow should I wear with this dress, etc?

Experts please help!

I need to decide what color eyeshadow I should wear with a dress that is brownish-orange, kind of like this color (with the light on it:)

http://www.3-form.com/materials-varia-co...

Also, I am wearing gold shoes and a gold necklace. I have greenish blue eyes.

Thanks!

What eyeshadow should I wear with this dress, etc?
i would say just natural, nude makeup since you're going heavy on the accessories....you don't want to overpower the look.

I'd say go with a slightly shimmery shadow that's like one subtle shade darker than your own skin color. You could also check out ALMAY's collection of shadows for green eyes...
Reply:well it depends on your complexion color, are you tanned or white.

anyways if you are tanned, then gold since its in and will go with your accessories, and add little bronze on upper side of your eye, below your eyebrows (the gold should be on the moving eye) i dont know if im explaining it right.

If you are white, then dark bronze, blended with dark brown and if you have an eyeshadow color like your dress add it on the upper side of your eyes but keep it on the outter corner not the inner one, you can have little gold under your eyebrows and on the inner corner of your eyes..

i really dont know if i have explained my self right

enjoy anyways
Reply:I think you should wear light brown with green going outwards from the eye.. bringing out your green eyes.

use a light line of dark brown eye liner, too..

wear gold ear rings as well. awsome
Reply:Bronze or copper tint will look good...
Reply:i would wear a metallic browish-red color with a bronzer
Reply:wear a brownish gold...like a bronzer cream.
Reply:either bronze copper or gold
Reply:How beautiful!

They have the most awesome shades of rust, brown, and gold. Go to a store with a big makeup selection like Target where you can compare brands. If it was me, I'd start with a pale gold base that has some sparkle, layer it with a bronzy color, and finish by contouring with something as close as possible to the color of the dress. And to top it all off, look for some of the newer liquid eyeliner in a complimenting darker color, or go with a deep brown.

Even if you're very young, using just one eyeshadow color doesn't bring out the best of your eyes.
Reply:gold
Reply:a soft black alwaysss looks good with gold
Reply:A beige with peach eyeshadow will make you look beautiful. Don't forget the eyeliner and the mascara to add more dramatism at your eyes.
Reply:I would suggest using a golden beige (Summer by Bare Escentuals) as a base colour and then add a brownish colour (Sex Kitten by Bare Escentuals) in the crease. I would wear a good bronzer (No Sun Intended Bronzing Powder by Arbonne) on the face and using a fluff eye brush highlight the eyes with the bronzer (it will tie in the colours - use it on the eye socket bone outer eye). Line your eyes with a rich brown (Retro by Bare Escentuals). Further, I would use a nude lip liner and gloss to complement the look.

Good luck! :)
Reply:I would do gold/bronze but that may overplay the other gold in the dress. and your eyes are green hmm?...

K take a little concealor and put all over as a base for eyelid - cuz i assume it's a night time thing and you want your eyes to stay gorgeous all night! then i'd take a base nude color to set the concealor - now your ready for color.

From what you've described your dress and your eyes, i'd take a shimmery white color and put that on your bottom lids and blend lightly all over eye towards eyelid. Then i'd use a shimmer (loose) if you can find it silver dust (walgreens, walmart, freddys?) on the outside ends of you lid (cat type eyes look) and lightly blend inward on the tops of your lid. Doesnt matter what you wear or your tones, but shimmery silver is a great color for nighttime dramatic, yet playful and sassy. Then i'd apply black (or brown for less dramatic) liner getting a little thicker towards the outside ends of the lid on top. (and a little liner on the bottom) depends on what you prefer. Then curl eyelashes if youd like for more open lashes a bit and add a couple coats of mascara on top, and one coat lightly on bottom lashes. That way you have your pretty colors from your outfit, and your green/blue eyes - with no colors overdone.

You can use this site for other makeup type info, etc. Have fun-

Where can I find tissue stuffings for bags & shoes ? Those which high-end boutiques use to wrap ur bags ?

It's neither those tracing paper as the material's kinda stiff and 'crispy' to wrap bags or shoes. It's the softer kind which one can crush so easily with a palm. Those tissues are good at protecting bags %26amp; shoes and yet, it's hard to find them around when I want some... anyone knows where I can find 'em...?

Go to any party supply store and they sell tissue paper. That's all it is. They usually sell it by the sheet or by the package.

Has anyone seen shoes that look like gloves???

I was watching WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONARE when they showed a guy's feet because he was wearing these shoes. They appeared to be made of a real thin stretchy material . Please help me if you can...

What's your favorite color shoes, to match a deep purple dress?

I have an absolutely gorgeous, deep-purple dress. It's short sleeve but floor-length, and the material is lightweight enough for spring and summer.

What color shoes do you guys prefer for a dress like this? Here are some choices I guess...purple, navy, white, silver.

Thanks!

What are these Nike trainers called?

I saw someone wearing some great Nike trainers today, they were white with a big dark green tick on the outside edges of both shoes. They seemed to be made of a white leather type material with lots of pockmarks/pinpricks all over them. They were styled more like a low skate shoe and they weren't particularly "chavvy" looking!

Anyone know what they are called or where I can buy them online?

Can I return Juicy Couture shoes that I bought from Nordstrom's that have already been worn?

I bought a pair of juicy shoes. They are unbearably painful to wear. I wore them a couple of times hoping with each time i wear them, they will break in. This never happened! I paid over $200 dollars for these shoes! The bottom is really messed up because of the gold material they use on the bottom. Will i still be able to return them? I heard Nordstrom has a very good return policy but I am kind of embarrassed to return something i wore but they were so expensive..what should i do?

Can I return Juicy Couture shoes that I bought from Nordstrom's that have already been worn?
get a refund u should be able to!
Reply:try to get a refund and if you can't maybe you could sell them on E-Bay for $100-$150. You might not be able to get back what you paid for them since they were slightly worn, but at least you'd get something out of it. That's if they just don't fit you properly, though. If they're completely defected and wouldn't fit anyone right, then you should try to get your money back from the store you bought them at. Did you keep your receipt?
Reply:Just bring it in and said that the shoes suck! Nordstrom is actually very flexible with their return policy and as long as you have the receipt, they can offer a refund to you. Even if you wore it, just tell them that they hurt and after trying to break them in, they still were really stiff and you want a refund.

The Nordstrom people might judge you a bit for returning expensive shoes but at least you won't be stuck with something you probably will never be happy wearing, so who cares!
Reply:The Great thing about nordstom is that you can buy something have it for a long time and they'll take it back and give you:

A. another pair

B. something of equal value or store credit

I had a pair of shoes from their wore them for 2 years and they gave me new ones! also they really expensive...so I had no choice lol
Reply:yes they have good return policy
Reply:Unfortunately if you wore them, no matter how uncomfortable they are you cannot return worn shoes to a store especially a high end store like Nordstroms. They will not except them back nor will they give you a refund. You are better off just selling them to someone to get your money back. Good Luck.!!

What shoes to match chocolate brown dress?

I have a chocolate brown dress- spaghetti strap, knee length, sweetheart front, chiffon.satin-y material with a satin bow at the waist. What color/type shoes should i wear? Also what accessories? I'm wearing to a wedding, so it would need to be appropriate for both the church and reception.

What shoes to match chocolate brown dress?
hm, depending on the color of the bow, I would recommend a pair of cream heels or dressy sandals. Cream pearls and a satin clutch would look cute with your dress as well=)

How would you write a dress code for teachers to help them look professional and still be comfortable w kids?

I need help writing a dress code for teachers at an elementary school. Last year, our dress code was pretty lax, but the rules that were there were not enforced, and toward the end of the year, there were parent complaints that some of the teachers were not dressing professionally enough to suit them. So, the principal has now made a VERY rigid dress code and we teachers are not allowed to wear any capri pants, no open toed shoes...pants are supposed to be regular length and have 1 inch of loose material around the thighs and buttocks, shoes must be closed toe but NOT tennis shoes, nothing sleeveless, nothing see-through.....I mean, some of this stuff is self-explanatory, like who would really wear low-cut tops or tight jeans to work with children, but this is ridiculous. We live in Florida, we teach 5-10 year olds, and we are expected to stand outside during mid-day on the playground with NO SHADE and supervise recess, we are expected to get down on the kids' level in 90 degree

How would you write a dress code for teachers to help them look professional and still be comfortable w kids?
The best dress code it the one that is detailed.

Dress codes don't work well if everyone does not understand them and they are not complete. Yes they need to be simple to understand. Even teachers can bend the rules when they want.

I feel teachers should always dress like professionals. A sloppy or inappropriately dressed teacher will not be the best teacher. In all walks of life you find that those that take pride in their look will do a better job. When we dress to fit the job we strive to make a statement as the best at that job. I have volunteered in schools, elementary schools, and have found some teacher to look professional while others so relaxed that they should have stayed home.

Loose fitting gauze dresses are unflattering. So is tie-dye and flip flops. I have seen curve hugging attire too. It can turn any principals head and sometime I think this is more reason to get noticed.

When ever the school was having their teachers meetings the teachers dress up more (even revealing) to get the principals attention. Does this guarantee their job? Or is it something else.

Look at other jobs and the relationships and how the females strive for attention.

Pilots vs Flight Attendants

Doctors vs Nurses

Lawyers vs Law aides

Judges vs attorneys

Professors vs Teacher aides

I think all teachers should dress like professionals as so to represent their school and school district well. Parents dont want to address a teacher in coulottes, and low tops or spaghetti straps. It is just not appropriate.
Reply:Sorry but Capri pants and sandals are not professional attire.

I sympathize with your having to be our in the sun on warm days but an a-line skirt with loafers would be just as comfortable.
Reply:I think all the teachers should wear polo shirts, khakis and tennis shoes. You are there to teach and you need to be comfortable in order to perform your job duties.

I don't believe open toed shoes are appropriate for anyone working with children for several reasons, but the main reason being that you need a good supportive shoe to keep up with kids, and sandals just don't cut it in that area.

I wouldn't want to be in your position to have to argue such a strict dress code. Good luck!
Reply:The shoe part might be because of liability and workman's comp issues that have nothing to do with fashion. Check with your boss.

I would just ask that teachers make every effort to look like adult teachers and not teenage baby sitters. No short shorts, but Bermudas would be OK in hot weather. Sleeveless is OK, but tank tops are not. Pants should not be tight. You're teaching, not trolling for dates. Hair and make-up should be neat and age-appropriate. Tennis shoes are OK, but flip flops aren't.

What's the code for men?
Reply:Do what our school system did, the rules changed when it was over a certain degree of heat in the summer, [or under on a very cold day, I live in the midwest, so this was an issue].. And maybe the rules could change for playground duty. For instance, when it is hot, loose burmuda shorts, a collared shirt, and safe shoes would be an OK thing.

Be glad you did not practice when I was growing up. We had 100 +degree temps in the summer, and the teachers had playground duty in hose, girdles, closed heeled shoes, and probably a long line bra under a rayon dress. It is a wonder they didn't die. Back then, anything that you could see through, and see underwear, or the line of underwear, was taboo. Often they wore a suit, the men took their jackets off, and so did the women, but it is difficult to remove a girdle! And you are right, it is not fair that the gym teachers get to wear their shorts around the school. Their shorts should be for when they are teaching. In the halls, or on playground duty, they should be made to wear long pants, like everyone else.
Reply:no clue
Reply:You leave me wondering just how many of these kids parents were actually part of the decision making process on deciding what the kids or teachers should be wearing and how many were actually complaining. You might find that this is all from one small group of religious fanatics who have decided on a school board take over.

You have 4 choices at least. Protest and possibly sue the school board over the dress code. Adapt to the dress code the best that you can, have a teachers delegation discuss it with the parents and the school board or simply organize with the other teachers to take organized job action, strike or quit. I understand Florida is even advertising here in Canada for any qualified teachers who might be interested so if they are that desperate for teachers you have some leverage.

How to write a professional yet practical dress code for elementary teachers?

How to write a professional yet practical dress code for elementary teachers?
I would express to my principal that I spend a lot of time on the floor, painting, and doing other messy things to wear some of the clothes you mentioned. Yes, its important to look nice but it is also important to be comfortable enough to do your job. Also, if you look too uppity, you can't really relate to some of your underprivledged students. Seems like a really dumb thing to worry about. After all we have important issues to think about with our kids.
Reply:The dress code in our district is to not wear anything that could be distracting to the professional work environment.

Our building principal has expressed to us that he doesn't like to see us in jeans or shorts. For the most part, people respect that.

We work with no A/C in our buildings (in the fall and spring, it can get into the 90s).

I can't imagine how your principal is going to measure for 1" of loose material around your colleagues' buttocks. That's insane. Can't you just speak with the camel-toed offenders directly?
Reply:This is another reasons why there are teachers unions. If your school district has one, any change in work conditions must be negotiated. I taught for 30+ years, none of my schools had a dress code for teachers. Maybe it was assumed teachers are mature/intelligent enough to know how to dress. There is also a chain of command... The parents should have spoken with the teachers they thought were inappropriately dressed before they went to the principal.

Girls: Is 5 foot 11 really that much better than 5 foot 9 for a guy? Am I short?

Because I am almost 5'11 with shoes on and 5'9-5'10 without shoes; 5'9 by the end of the day and 5'10 in the morning. (I think because of gravity on our spines)

Whats too short for dating material? Should I just always wear shoes with a lift?

Girls: Is 5 foot 11 really that much better than 5 foot 9 for a guy? Am I short?
NOTHING matters but that you are a man.

Women love shorter men, they could care less about a height measurement.

Women love the whole personality---also, your attitude, your grooming, your clothes, and how you treat other people. Forget the useless item of height, and work on all your personality issues---work them, and be bold in relating to women.

Handsome is as handsome does!
Reply:i once read an article saying that 5'10 is the perfect height for a guy. you most likely pass for a 6 footer if you walk with head up and with good posture. Report It

Reply:Your not short but I just love short men like 5'4 or so. That turns me on. I like to be eye level.
Reply:NO
Reply:Too short for dating material is a matter of perspective. Personally I like a guy that's taller, but not too terribly tall. It makes me feel short. You're the perfect height if you ask me, no need to be self conscious. You're not so utterly tall it's annoying, but you're not 5'4". So no need to worry. And we all end up shorter by the end of the day, both in physical appearance, and ego. Hah. Don't worry, you can wear shoes with a lift if they give you more confidence, because you could be 5 foot even, and if you were confident (not a cocky perv mind you) ladies would love you. Just be careful on your confidence level and don't go overboard. Best of wishes!
Reply:Personally for me I want the guy to be like at the least 5"11. But most girls aren't as tall as me, I am 5"9. Dont fret too much about your height....

Are these shoes the real thing?

Ok, I was shopping at Ross the other day, and I found this pair of Guess brand shoes for 12 bucks (orginally, 60 bucks). The shoes are like Converse Chuck Taylors, except it's made of a denim material, and it has this purposely ripped up look. The thing is, I've never heard of or seen these shoes before. Is it possible that they are fake? Is it even from Guess? Has anyone ever heard or seen these shoes before? I can't show how it looks, but all I can say is that it looks like Converse Chucks, except it's denim material, and on the side, it has an emblem of the manufacter date and establishment date. On the lower corner, it says "1981 GUESS AMERICAN manufactured exclusively for Guess. Superior fit and style".

Are these shoes the real thing?
Ross is a retailer for brand clothes. So yes it is real. The shoes may not be new/from this season because I couldn't find it on online at GUESS. But honestly, $12 for for GUESS shoes? I would have bought it!

Just got brand new shoes - but sole is stinking - what can i do?
if you mean the inner sole then you can replace them with new ones. You can buy these in most supermarkets , but if you ask in your local chemist they will suggest the right kind for you.
Reply:if the smell is inside the shoe...try sprinkling bicarbonate soda inside...this usually works for smells.otherwise i would try cleaning the sole with the same stuff mixed to a paste with water..good luck!
Reply:Put them back into the box they came in and walk into the shop and cause a stink...

Don't ask for an exchange, ask for money back PLUS a free pair......

LOL, just read my pun....
Reply:Take them back.Who wants people looking round wondering where the smells coming from and all their eyes finally resting on you?Take them back!
Reply:If you absolutely love the shoes and don't want to or can't return them, put a few pieces of charcoal (loosly wrapped in tissue) in each shoe. This should absorb the odors. Cut pieces of apple would also help, but don't want to get your shoes sticky! I once bought a purse that stunk and I ended up returning it. My entire house smelled and I didn't know what it was - then my car smelled and when I finally figured it out I returned it to Ann Taylor and they said that several people had also returned the purses for the same reason (but they were still selling them) - last time I shopped there!!
Reply:That sounds awful. POOH!! Take them back to where you bought them from and get a refund. There's nothing worse than stinky shoes cos everyone will think it's you!

How do you wash your track shoes?

When it says do not soak because it might spoil the material. I've tried using the spray foam especially for track shoes to clean off the tough stains on the cloth material but not for the nylon. But it doesn't even work!!! Help me pls!!

How do you wash your track shoes?
Dishwasher.
Reply:Put water in the sink with some bleach. Take a toothbrush and dip it in the water and brush off the dirt and wipe with a towel. It is cheap and works great.
Reply:Toothpaste
Reply:simple green spray cleaner... works on everything and its cheap. you can get it at walmart too.
Reply:Purchase a new pair. Most cheap shoes are made with cellulose composite materials. The paper like lining is a perfect environment for bacteria. When you wash the shoe the glues dissolve and the lining breaks down. Check under the insert. Remove the insert and look for paper like lining.

Tennis and running shoes are good for 3 months. I change my socks often to extend the life of the shoe. Let them dry out completely and you can spray inside for foot odors. Running shoes are not designed to keep a clean surface outside.

Purchase a pair that are washable. Ask the shoe sales person.

I purchased a pair of trekking shoes made for water and creek hiking. They are made of cloth fabrics, (no paper) and are washable in cold water. I use expensive inserts and they're comfortable for running.

Check out the shoes in Outdoors, camping, sporting vendors such as Big 5, REI, Any Mountain.
Reply:I am runner also and the way I clean my shoes is with a brush and detergent. I just take a toothbrush, wet the shoes and put the detergent on the brush and brush the shoes then I rinse. It works for me. Nothing has ever happen to my shoes. If you are worried about the color fading, use Woolite instead of regular detergent. Hopes this help.

Aqua/turquoise prom dress...what color shoes/purse?
It looks like a beautiful dress! Wear silver strappy shoes and get a silver purse. And a necklace with pearls or pearlized beading.
Reply:either silver or a pearl color
Reply:I would go with silver on shoes and jewlery. I would try some dangling silver earrings and a silver colours choker. Main thing is to keep it simple and not over do the jewlery.
Reply:I would wear silver jewelry because there's silver in the material. You can even do some cool beads instead of the normal silver or pearls. Colors that go with the aqua/turquoise is coral, violet, deep orange, silver, cream, lime, yellow. These colors are some what close of the color wheel and will go nicely with your dress..

Have a fabulous time.
Reply:i would do silver jewelry and shoes..it looks really pretty in the pics
Reply:i would go w/ something like shiny gold shoes and a purse to match, for jewelry try the same,

have a great prom,

Reply:Well if you can afford to splurge you could purchase silver shoes and a silver purse. Black shoes and black purse would also work.

You could also find black shoes with noticible silver accents on it, and go with a black purse with noticible silver accents on it as well.

As for jewellery, something smaller and elegant would look nice as u wouldn't want to overdo the silver part. A black and silver choker would do and and some elegant silverish drop earring *tear drop* If you don't want the choker, u could get a tear drop silver necklace.
Reply:black or silver!!!!
Reply:shoes - silver

purse - a little bit of a pearly color

jewelry - a pearl earrings and necklace (necklace: at least five pearls not more than that)

*tip: i recommend that you pulled your hair up...
Reply:silver
Reply:ahm i think it is better to use a pair of shoes with silver touch and a purse with the same color with the shoes..about the accessories you must use diamonds or any gems that is sparkling.
Reply:I don't think white or black high heels would look very good. I would see if you could find sparkly silver high heels, and the same color purse. If you are wearing you're hair up, i would have long, but lightweight, silver earings, and if the top of your dress goes a bit low, you might like to have a simple silver necklace. If you can find matching earrings %26amp; necklace, that might be a good idea.Hope this helps!!!

What exactly is the process for making the faux/ synthetic leather (pleather) and how would it harm animals?

Help! What exactly do you wear if you're a veg %26amp; don't agree with wearing leather, fur, suede, etc? I always thought pleather was an awesome alternative.

What exactly is the process for making the faux/ synthetic leather (pleather) and how would it harm animals?
pleather is 100% plastic/chemical in nature. the only thing that would cause harm to animals is the process to make plastic. it could cause pollution in the process of making it, which could harm everybody including animals and people.

MILAN (Italy) for FINE ART goods..good place???

This city is known for its' huge shopping possibilities, the large variety of clothes, shoes etc.. But what about when it comes to Art materials in Milan ?? Italy is the country of art otherwise, so I naturally think there are many more fine art materials shops in Italy than in many other countries.. Am I correct ?? And of course I am talking of Milan mostly.

So the questions..

Is Milan good for coming to collect ones art materials ?

Is Milan's art material stores relatively cheap compared to other countries ? Do you know any examples ?

What are the fine art store that you would recommend ??

And finally.. are there any other cities in Italy that would be extremely well suited for art materials shopping ??

Thank you sooooooooo much in advance !!!!!

MILAN (Italy) for FINE ART goods..good place???
First of all, remember that Italy is "the country of art" as far as art history, not necessarily the contemporary art scene, is concerned. The time of Michelangelo and Raphael has long passed. There are plenty of Sunday painters (and arts-and-crafters), but today's "big" art scene is still mostly in the U.S. (like New York). The same goes for art schools.

In any case, probably any Italian city has good art supply stores, including here in Rome. Unfortunately things aren't cheap at all. And there aren't any discount or wholesale places that are convenient, for example, for art students or struggling artists. I sometimes even consider the possibility of ordering stuff from the States (also because of the euro/dollar exchange rate -- favorable for us over here). In any case, why would you want to come here to buy imported Liquitex or Windsor Newton products? The biggest Italian brand of art supplies is Maimeri. For an idea of prices, a small (250 ml - roughly 8 oz) jar of Maimeri acrylic gloss medium at my neighborhood art supply store has arrived at 8.30 euro (I just checked on it this evening), which is roughly 12 US dollars! And you can totally forget larger (1 quart or 1 gallon) size containers of paints and medium -- they don't even exist here.

So I certainly wouldn't come to Italy specifically to buy art supplies, but if you happen to be here, you can check in the local phone book yellow pages for art supply stores. Here in Rome, the category to look under is: "Disegno, grafica e belle arti - Articoli". The main "big name" I remember in the center of Rome is Vertecchi -- but (also because it is in the very chic center, not far from the Spanish Steps) it is not at all cheap. There also used to be another famous store on Via del Babuino (between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, near the famous "artists' street", Via Margutta), where you could even buy pure pigments and made-to-order stretched canvases (I had them restretch a large canvas of mine that I had brought over from the U.S. rolled up); it was called "L'Artistica", but it seems to have closed down a few years back (another sign of waning artistic years?).

BTW, in most cases, Milan as a city is more expensive than others in Italy. Florence is also very expensive.
Reply:Tuscany and Venice..is the best places to go for ART...as far as "cheap"

Italy is everything but cheap....

hi... of course milan is good for shopping... but also for art and art shops, as you said.

brera is the most important art academy in the world... and guess where it is? yep, in milan... brera quarter is one of the nicest areas of the city... old little streets, beautiful ancient flats, with balconies in flowers!!! really good for nightlife too... quite crowded...

anyway, here i saw a lot of the shops you are talking about... they sell pictures, sculptures, fine fornitures and great stuff and objects for painting, drawing and art-working!

they are expensive though... totally! but obviously the quality is so high....

unfortunately... i don't remember any name! sorry!
Reply:Can not help you with Milan, but Arezzo in Tuscany has an enormous antiques market on the first Sunday of the month and the previous Saturday, centered on Piazza Grande and Piazza Vasari, in the historical center of the city. There are more than the 500 exhibitors coming from every part of the country and it is most attended antiques market of Italy. In average the visitors are approximately 20.000 every month. It can be found of all: furniture, paintings, books and ancient press, clocks, glasses, cloth, iron and the most varied curiosity between. The hunting to the valuable object, to the "piece" lacking a precious collection, already begins during the previous evening the opening of the market, when the goods still is packed on the trucks and it is closed, often after ignited dealings, to the sunset of Sunday. Thanks to the market, today in Arezzo are available beyond 100 stores of antique dealing.

Sorry, now I see that you are looking for art material, my mistake.
Reply:You'll have to go to the Breda area wher the art school is. You'll find may shops where students themselves shop for art materials. Can't give you a shop name but can tell you that there are several in the area.

Any suggestions for comfortable shoes or preventing blisters?

Hi, I just moved into my college apartment at USC, and since I don't have a car I'm walking a lot more than I ordinarilly do. My tennis shoes are really comfortable, but I hate to have to wear them EVERYDAY, especially because they look really dumb with skirts and such. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any comfortable brands or types of flip flops/female footwear. A lot of my flip flops are that plastic material that rubs after awhile, and many of my other shoes are cheaply made from payless. I have horrible blisters after only 2 days! I don't mind splurging on shoes, but I want to be assured they will be comfortable for walking around if I'm going to pay a lot. So any suggestions on brands, types of material etc. would be greatly appreciated...tell me about YOUR comfortable shoes!

Also, if you know of any creams for blisters, or adhesive pads or something to prevent them on the shoes I already have, that would help too. THANKS!

Reply:I hear you you have to take care of your feet they hold you up. Dr Scholls has made some pads you can slip under your feet before you put your shoes on to help with calluses and blisters, he always has a great foot cream and soak that you can use it should really help you. AND FOR YOUR SHOES FLIP FLOPS ARE NOT GOOD FOR ALOT OF WALKING COMPARED TO POPULAR BELIEF, THERE COMFORTABLE BUT NOT FOR ALOT OF WALKING LIKE YOU GO IN BE DOING, SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY BALLERINA SHOES THERE STYLISH BUT YET COMFORTABLE OR JUST [PLAIN FLATS ATE GOOD AND THERE POPULAR KNOW YOU CAN GET THEM IN EVER COLOR.
Reply:There is special treatment
Reply:Born or Skechers
Reply:either birks or crocs
Reply:use moleskin on the blisters that you have now, that will keep them from getting worse, and as for the shoe problem...Sketchers has really cute shoes to go with dresses, skirts and such. I find they are super comfy and certain styles go with just about anything...Plus I was able to find mine for a decent price and bought more than one pair. Good Luck.

Reply:Try Dr.Sholls, his line of products might have something for your blisters. And also Vans have a lot of cute colors and patterns if your skirts are casual and not dress up consider some of those. Then you can consider the Birkenstock's or aerosoles. And try Keds also

I Love Comfort

Birkenstock

They make these little curved pad to stick in your shoes to keep them from rubbing blisters. Look for them with the Dr. Shoals stuff.
Reply:Crocs are awesome - they are the most comfortable shoes in the world. You can order them from crocs.com - and yes, they make flip flops. I am a nurse, on my feet for twelve hours at a stretch, and they work fine for me - no foot pain at all, and much less problems with joints than before I started wearing them. You can pad the impact points on your foot where the blisters are with moleskin until they are healed, and you can use it to stop blisters from forming. Neosporin is the best thing for blisters once they have popped, and until they pop, just leave them open to air, since they are sterile, and make sure you have neosporin and band-aids with you at all times.
Reply:get some docter shols or wear some socks
Reply:Crocs are the most comfortable and they come in flip flops and all kinds of different styles. Also airwalk fli flops are very comfortable too
Reply:Go to a mall and on a stand in the mall they have shoe that are like slippers. They cover the whole foot and they are comfortable.
Reply:the most comfortable flip flops i have found are from american eagle outfitters....they arent the most cheap but they last longer and domt wear out and if you have a pair of shoes that rub on your feet causing blisters, line the inside of the shoe (closed shoes only) with bandaids sticky side down....it helps i am a high school student and this helps me get through the day
Reply:Birkenstocks are wonderful walking shoes. They conform to your feet, and mine never give me blisters.
Reply:I agree with Julia L. Crocs are the most comfortable shoes in the world. Its like getting a foot massage everytime you step and since they have a bunch of holes in them your feet don't sweat. They are a bit ugly though. I wouldn't wear them to the prom.
Reply:Hey!

Birkenstocks, open-toe sandals, or flats work the best for me. Also, there's a type of material that one of my flip-flops are made out of. I don't know what it is, but it's sort of spongy/bouncy ish and really comfortable. Hope that helped! :)
Reply:There is a lot of different "Tennis" shoes out there. The clunky ones are not for me.

Look at Foot Locker, they have many styles.
Reply:don't try to save a bunch of money by buying bargain shoes there are some things that you should spend a little more money on, like shoes oh and wear socks
Reply:The Dr. Scholl's products have a whole whack of stuff to use to prevent blisters. But there's nothing wrong with wearing tennis shoes. Some of them cost 'way more than ordinary shoes, but they are kind to your feet and if you are walking to class, you don't need to have sore feet once you get there.

Once you get on campus, you'll find most of your peers are wearing good, solid running shoes.

Once upon a time, runners may have been regarded as 'dumb' with skirts, but not any more.

You can, if you wish, get a leather version of runners that looks a little dressier but still provides good support for your foot. But the leather shoes don't breathe as well as the regular running shoes.

PS: For the next little while, focus your thoughts on what you are putting in your head, not what you are putting on your feet. It will be more rewarding in the long run, and after you graduate, you can afford a whole wardrobe of shoes, because you'll be qualified for a well-paying and interesting job.

Good luck to you!
Reply:Sorry to say, but expensive ones
Reply:comfortable shoes are shoes that fit right, and this time it pays to pay more
Reply:If you want to stay with flip-flops get Reef brand. They are around $25 but totally worth it! They are so incredibly comfy. Sandal and shoe wise I suggest Birkenstock. They are the most comfortable shoe I've found. They are totally worth the price. If you have an outlet mall around you, there might be a Birk's store there. I got a pair of sandals from QVC (of all places)at a really good price. Trainer wise I like New Balance. I have slightly wide feet and they are the most comfortable for me.
Reply:Here' a tip I have shared with all my Friends (who still love me for it) and that I still use today:

***When you get a new pair of leather shoes put them on your feet and stand in a bath tub fulll of warm water long enough to get them really soaked. Leave them on and walk around for at least an hour (Make sure they are dry b-4 taking off ) The shoes will dry to mold the individual shape of your foot.

Fake Nike Total90 Lasers?

My friend keeps bragging and wears his so called "t90 lasers" to school, but they dont look like any lasers ive seen on the web and google images. They are yellow, the bottom is black with circles that barely project outwards and in between the yellow and the bottom there is white and it looks like a running shoe. The sticker at the front of the shoes that says "total ninety shoot" and is a dark grey and is now ripping off the shoe. There is no part on the shoes that say "zoom" with the triangle thing. also the you can see through the laces like the real one but this one is like a grey plastic material (not hard mesh like the real one). These shoes look like there indoor but i dont know. Can you tell me if these are in fact real and can i see a pic of them

Fake Nike Total90 Lasers?
Just think of the Adidas F30+, There in the middle just like the boots you desribed about this boy.
Reply:yeah their not the real lasers... their the cheaper t90 shoot that look similar but only cost around 70 and boast accuracy

last time I saw them at a store they were 70 but this link shows them for a lot less

Why do the plastic on my Nike Zoom MaxCat Track Spikes fade when i run in cement/rocks?

I got the Spikes just recently through EBay, and I got them for an upcoming Track Meet held by my school. I tried them outside, which was Cement and had a few rocks on it. All the Spikes were inserted (5 on each shoe) and it felt uncomfortable too. The Spikes faded a bit as well. Maybe I'm adding the wrong number of Spikes to each shoe? or maybe Cement/Rock isn't the right material to practice on. Somebody help..

Why do the plastic on my Nike Zoom MaxCat Track Spikes fade when i run in cement/rocks?
yes the spikes arent made to run on cement and hard surfaces they are made to run on a track with rubber in which they can dig into they cant dig into cement so it just chips them off. just go to a sports store like sports authority you can get some new spikes for your shoes for around 5 dollars. of course they are not comfortable your using them on cement. sorry your spikes faded and good luck with the meet
Reply:the answers said above are true and to add to your not being comfortable i have a suggestion. I actually run in these for the 800m and they were also very uncomfortable when i first use them with all the spikes in them. Look in your spike bag and find the "blank" spikes, or spikes without points. Insert them in the spike slot that feels the most uncomfortable. For me it was the inside part of each shoe
Reply:The other guy is right, and i dont suggest buying shoes from ebay

alot of them are fake
Reply:The cement/rock is not the right surface to practice on. They were made for races and running on the track. If you want racing shoes for the cement/rocks you should get racing flats.

Ballet question????

I want to ask wich sort of padding is better for the pointe shoes the jelly pad otr the material one???Cauze i got the material one and it got worned out v-quikley!!!Is the jelly one better???

Ballet question????
Get the pink jell pads. The blue jell pads require being in flour to dry them out after you use them. The pink ones don't and I have used the same pair of pink jell pads for 4 years. The material does wear out quickly, but its really whatever your foot feels comfortable with.
Reply:Well the type of pad you use is dependant on how you feel. they both do the exact same job the only diffrence is which one do you feel more comfortable with. If you didnt like how the material felt or if you did like it but it just wore out too quickly try the jelly one and if it doesnt feel right then go back to material. You dont even need pads tape also works, all the pointe dancers at my studio use the jelly though.
Reply:i like wool jell pads they are really comfy
Reply:I've used both and I think it really depends on your foot but for my foot the jelly pads felt soooo much better, but they also stink after awhile.
Reply:I'm not exactly sure what you mean by material, but I'm guessing you mean lambs wool?? If you specify what type I'll edit this in a few. I use the ones in the link below, they are jelly, but still feel like your toes aren't going right through them. I have try many different types and these are by far the best.

http://www.dancewearsolutions.com/defaul...

^^the ones I have

http://www.discountdance.com/frame_set.p...

^^here is a list of toe pads, if you click on one and look to the lleft of the picture you'll see a bunch of stars and reviews: #. You can click on that and see what other people have to say about the pads before buying them!
Reply:I have had both gel toe pads and lamb's wool toe pads and the gel pads are much, much better. They absorb more shock when you land jumps and they just plain feel better. I have heard of girls who put paper towels in their pointe shoes when they first start pointe, but then slowly wean themselves off of them so that they do not need toe pads at all. I think this would hurt, but some people think that this technique is the way to go. Try both and see which works best for you. all dancers have unique feet and unique ways of caring for them. However, remember that your body, and especially your feet, are your tools as a dancer. Don't do anything to them that doesn't feel right. It could end your career.
Reply:everyone has different ideas on what type of padding to use for their feet. i use ouch pouches, and i think they work really well. you can feel the floor enough, and they dont feel too bulky in my pointe shoes. a lot of my friends wear gel pads and they love those as well, because they offer a little more extra padding than the thin ouch pouches.

by material did you mean ouch pouches, or lamb's wool...? lamb's wool is pretty thin but some people like them. try out different types to see which fits you the best and which you are most comfortable in. it can really make a difference in your dancing if you find the right one for you.

good luck!
Reply:jelly pads are way better cause i used to have the material ones or lambs wool and my toes are worse then now. also i think most dancing school supply stores have like individual toe jelly pads that are really good i heard from people in my dance class. i would try those as well as the regular toes pads
Reply:I use ouch pouches and I love them. They have a fabric covering, but gel on the inside. I used to have regualr gel apds and I hated them, I got blood blisters on every toe. I've also used lambs wool before, While the lambs wool worked very well the first time I used it, it was worn out halfway through my second class.

So I would recommend Ouch Pouches, but remember that everyone's feet are different. You should try out some different things to see what works best for you.

Good luck and keep on dancing!!!
Reply:Go with the jell pads, their much better. You can buy them at discountdancesupply.com
Reply:I would got the jelly ones to. i have the material ones and i have only been usuing them for three months and they are already torn up.

Do ballet flats that are black made out of jean material with tiny bows on the toes look like old lady shoes?

no, I think that they're actually really cute with jeans. totally not old lady-ish.

Reply:No !
Reply:I don't think it would if you wore it with some cute pants (fitted jeans and capris, miniskirt, or shorts). I would avoid loose trousers and really long skirts.

BTW, where did you find them, the sound cute!

Hope this helps!
