Why are my most super-comfy shoes so stinky?

Last month I got some "3D Ultra Lite" Reeboks. They are so comfy! But the first time I put them on... ewww, something didn't smell good. So I let them air out and put powder in them before wearing 'em again. Once again, ewww.... Something was stinky! So I let them air out for almost 2 weeks! I also sprayed them with Febreze a few times to get rid of whatever that odor is.

Today it was raining and my regular shoes were soaked, so I decided to try the Reeboks again. About 30 minutes later, I noticed that the smell is back. ... Any ideas? These shoes are really light weight compared to my others. I'm leaning toward thinking it's the materials they used to make them.

It could be the materials mixing with your sweat and bacteria. Try spraying them with a disinfectant spray. Usually the shoes you wear the most are the smelliest.
Reply:Are you wearing socks with them? I find that when i don't wear socks with shoes it makes them smell really bad. Try using inserts or a foot odor spray.
Reply:it might be the materials used. either that or these shoes are making your feet sweat a lot.
Reply:Three words - Made in China.
Reply:Sports shoes always have a funky smell. Unless you dun sweat at all.

I only wear mine at the gym and with socks. They dun stink.
Reply:i think people who have fav comfy shoes wear them to often when that happen they always come with an odor
Reply:It is more than likely the materials and this is going to sound icky, but the materials are probably not the best combination with you sweat and stuff so i wold get some oudour eating spray or a spray to ut onto your foot.
Reply:do you wear socks with them?

any type of moisture can cause odor
Reply:There so stinky because you wear them so often!

I think everyone has the same problem. When they find a great, comfortable, everyday pair of shoes they want to wear them all the time!

I would suggest buying shoes made out of that material since you seem to like it so much! As for now, continue using the Febreeze [it really helps!]
