NEED URGENT HELP!!!!! duck eggs?
what about wrapping them up in towles an in the airing cubby
Reply:Ah - you got a chicken? You can pop the eggs under there if you do.

If not, the eggs need to be kept at a constant temperature of 37.5 C, so;

1. Line the shoe box with a few towels for insulation

2. Put a shallow dish or bowl of water in the bottom (thats the humidity),

3. Find some sort of metal grid - take it from a barbeque grill or you might have a surface protecter thing in the kitchen? And put that above the bowl of water. (thats where the eggs will go)

4. You need a strong lamp, if you have any that burn you when you touch them then thats what you need! Lean that over the top.

If you make that now, then you can moniter the temperature to see how close to the box you'd need your lamp. If you can't get it warm enough then cover the box with polystyrene and cut a hole out for the lamp, if its too warm take away some towels and/or make some ventalation holes in the box.

Its trial and error, so get it right before the eggs come. And well done, we've just had some ducklings and they are so beautiful, paddling about all day! You'll have great fun!
Reply:The eggs will be fine if you need to keep them in the refrigerate them for a few days (or up to a week if I remember correctly). It is hard to maintain the proper temp and humidity without an incubator and you may not be successful. I suggest waiting.
Reply:basics - http://www.herpcam.com/incubator.htm

This is for reptiles but basics apply.

Make sure when your new one comes you have it plugged in and *at the right temp* before switching the eggs over
