Need help identifying story name and author?

while in HS our teacher read us a story that i found fascinating. the story was set some time in the future. in the story there is a room that the children play in. the walls are made of a mysterious crystal like material and whatever the children imagine comes to life on the walls....all the colors, scents....flavors. later in the story the father takes away the room as a form of punishment...when the parents are sleeping the kids break in and inagine the african savanna, lions and all. the father wakes and smells the grass lands and lions. he steps into the room and the door slams , he is trapped. on the walls he sees two hunger stricken lionesses...assuminng its just an illusion he steps closer and than realizes the lionesses are in fact real...and charging him. in the end the kids and wife wake up to find the shoe of the father and a trail of blood....need help identifying store and author

Argh! I remember this story but I can't answer your question. I haven't thought about this tale in over 30 years and now it's gonna drive me crazy!

EDIT: Told you it would drive me crazy. The story you are looking for is "The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury. It's part of his 1951 short story collection, "The Illustrated Man."
