Crafty chicks help please??? Would I be able to glue tiny rhinestones on these faux suade straps?

http://www.target.com/Xhilaration-Gess-F...

these are the shoes .. I have several already.. the are fake material that seems like suade. Would it work to glue tiny rhinestones on the straps?

What kind of glue would I need to bond well with the rhinestones and faux suade? What kind of glue from the craft store? Or would super glue work? i dont want to use a hot glue gun...

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Try superglue. It may hold because it's an uneven surface and the fabric will help to absorb some of the glue, but then again it may not. You'd also have to be careful walking in them if you don't plan on doing any touchups, otherwise the stones will fall off.

Hot glue wouldn't work anyhow, it will hold for only a short amount of time because the consistancy of the glue is like plastic.

If you find superglue to be too messy you can try some fake nail glue, it's pretty much the same thing and they come in a brush on or drop on style.

Aleen's Craft glue - I've used that before and it's pretty much like Elmers. Not very good.
Reply:i actually have those flipflops in a couple colors. I'm guessing since the material is 'furry' the glue will grab on well. I bought flip flop glue the other day at michaels but i'm guessing any glue will work well to adhere rhinestones. just make sure u get something that dries clear.

These flipflops suck in wet conditions tho so i cant vouch for the stones holding in wet weather

good luck lemme know how it turns out

also maybe try a fabric glue since the material is fabric and that glue is made to hold embellishments and for the garment to be washed.
Reply:It look cute wit rhinestones.. but rather than glue them you might just wanna bedazzle them.. you can get bedazzle kits at most craft stores. But if you do glue them.. i dont see why superglue wouldnt work.
Reply:You could try Ailene's (sp) craft glue, that stuff works pretty well, and dries clear. Or you could try a low heat glue gun. I would stay away from super glue, it's too messy. Good luck!
Reply:Gorilla Glue works on everything! Or they have special glue for fabric try looking at a Joann's or a craft store.
