Will floral tights work with a stripped mini dress?

I have a stripped mini dress that is black and sliver stripped, short sleeve, with a bit of a turtle neck and a tight sweater like material around the hips - which would be the bottom design of this dress.


Now as for the shoes I have -


I have these simple black strap sling-back heels. Then I have these pointed toe pumps with stiletto heels, with a sexy black leather 'belt' like strap design on them with gold metal studs on (this strap)and a silver buckel on the front. Like a belt.


Now, as for the tights -- these tights are metallic-black with a somewhat grey-silver, vintage-victorian (elegant) floral on them.


Now my question would be, would this outfit work or is it too much?


If it does work, what shoes should I wear and what kind of accessories?


I also have a red sweater like halter mini dress and the strap that makes it a halter dress (to hold the dress up) is a somewhat scarf like cloth that is very long and it wraps around the neck like a scarf.

Is there "toxic leather"?

I am making my own soft-soled baby shoes out of old handbags and coats from thrift stores and donations. The manufacturers of similar baby shoes brag that they are made from "non-toxic baby-safe leather." I've been searching for this amazing material and can't find it anywhere. So my questions is... I there such a thing as "toxic leather" or is this just a marketing ploy? I would hate to think that I am putting my children at risk. Thanks!

a common compound used to make leather is called tannic acid.


it is made from the sap from oak tree bark and redwood. I believe it is very toxic. I don't know how toxic old leather could be. Use the search machine and type in "toxicity level of tannic acid." The main chemical is called tannin. In response to your last entry, I have tanned fox leather myself and I do not remember neutralizing any chemical after I was done. When you dye your hair, you neutralize the chemical that is toxic when you are done. If commercial leather makers are required to do the same, I do not see a problem. Find a few of them and ask them through email.

Reply:No, but the agents that they use to cure it are. Once it's been cured and cleaned it's perfectly healthy, and non-toxic.

Reply:I wouldn't worry about old stuff. It is made with some harsh chemicals, but it's probably offgassed or otherwise long gone in old leather.

Has anyone else had a problem breaking in a pair of Vans slip-ons?

I bought a pair of Vans slip-ons but I'm having trouble breaking them in. The inside material on the heel feels like vinyl and gives me blisters. Other than that, the shoes fit great. They're the right size and I've tried Blister-Blockers and they rub right off. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to break your Vans in? These shoes are so cute, I'd hate to not be able to wear thm.

wear higher socks (i know it sound loser-ish) just get some old man sock (really kickass argyle ones) until your should start to deteriorate a little as soon as they have a few holes they start to get comfty
Reply:Its just the poor nature of the design. They are cut like dress shoes. If your prone to having foot pain with dress shoes than youll have it with the vans as well. I have scabs right now from my latest pair (WITH socks). After a few times it will soften up and youll be ok. Report It

Reply:I have that problem too. Unfortunately mine never "broke in". I know to wear band-aids on my heels when I wear them.

for makeup just wear tinted moisturizer or light foundation, mascara, light blush, light pink lip gloss, and either chocolate brown or gold eyeshadow.

Reply:Your whole school should be wearing standard school uniforms. And questions like this is the reason why. You're going back to school to get an education, not to model the latest and cutest! If your school wore uniforms you wouldn't have this problem. You could put your focus on your mind instead of your body.

How do you get red stains out of white leather?

I went dancing at a nightclub in Cancun, and they threw streamers up in the air which then fell to the floor. I noticed later that a red streamer had gotten stuck to my white sandal, leaving a stain that ruins the appearance of the sandal. I think the streamer was made of paper crepe material, about an inch wide and very long. How do I get the stain off?





(Please don't say throw the shoes away; I wear size 12 shoes with narrow heels, so it is difficult and often expensive for me to find and buy shoes.)

How do you get red stains out of white leather?
Since it's leather, you may want to try a leather cleaner. Also, call a shoe repair place, and ask them their advice concerning getting a stain out of white leather. Foot locker, for example sells leather cleaner, so try there for starters.

How many years can you keep (new) shoes?

If you have a pair of new leather sneakers and don't wear it. How long can you keep it? Will the materials be affected after, say 5 years? 10 years?

With proper care it can be kept many years. don't keep them in damp area. Keep the little bag that prevent humidity inside the box (they usually come with the shoes when you buy them). Of course you need also to take care not to let your feet size change so the shoes will still fit them!

Leather can last years if properly conditioned and taken care of. Ask the shoe store the best way to condition it and clean it.

Reply:Of course they won't , keep them in the box and they will outlive you!. Lot's of people have collected trainers (sneaks) from the 70s and 80s and they're in perfect condition!.
